LSU must break pattern if NCAA regional in its future

For the second consecutive weekend, a poor starting pitching performance cost LSU an opportunity of sweeping a Southeastern Conference series.

With pitcher Nate Ackenhausen unavailable for LSU’s Sunday game against Auburn, LSU coach Jay Johnson opted to use Griffin Herring in the late innings and not the first half of the game. Johnson tapped freshman Kade Anderson to make his first SEC start against Auburn.

Anderson could not get out of the first inning.
