Bryce Underwood tidbits
I spoke with 2025 top-overall quarterback Bryce Underwood's former coach Jermain Crowell today. I'm hoping to put together a complete story as sources get back to me.Crowell is still close with the Underwood family having coached both Bryce and his father, Jaquan Underwood despite not being the coach at Belleville anymore. He said he spoke with the Underwood family and their visit to LSU was "an amazing environment," and "stood out," as better than your typical recruiting visit. This was Underwood's fourth visit from Belleville, Michigan to LSU with his family. When I asked Crowell just how seriously Underwood is considering LSU he laughed and responded with "very seriously.""LSU is doing one hell of a job," Crowell said. "LSU does well with everything. Everyone is impressed with LSU's numbers, but they're looking at the coaches behind the numbers." But he reiterated that the offensive system is definitely a major part of the decision for Underwood. He said he doesn't believe Underwood has made up his mind yet, but that decision will be coming in January. He declined to tell me what the top schools were for Underwood currently but said LSU is among them.I asked if fellow 2025five stars Harlem Berry and Dakorien Moore also being on campus last week excited the family. He said that that kind of stuff is great, but his dad, a football coach himself, takes a high-IQ approach to these things. He says the family is very interested in the offensive lineman teams are signing and the job they can do to protect the quarterback. When I asked how LSU is doing in that department, he reiterated that the family feels LSU is doing everything well currently.I also spoke with popular comedian Theo Von who stopped by Tiger Stadium before the game. He said LSU coaches set him up to talk with Underwood. Von described Underwood as an "awesome guy."

National Average Rating

The National Average Rating is a proprietary formula that calculates an industry-wide aggregate rating for each recruiting prospect. The formula includes publicly listed grades, scores, ratings and rankings by national recruiting services, along with a TigerBait.com rating. Combining the data provides a rating for each prospect, which is then normalized to fit the TigerBait.com Rating 100-point scale.

The intent of this rating is to provide TigerBait.com readers with a comprehensive snapshot of how individual prospects rank nationally.
