ANALYSIS: Gritty effort gets LSU past Auburn

There were plenty of LSU statistics from its game at Auburn which would indicate a long trip back to Baton Rouge on Saturday night.

LSU’s two running backs barely averaged three yards per carry. Its quarterback did not complete 50 percent of his passes.

The defense permitted an Auburn back to rush for more than 100 yards. The defense allowed Auburn to complete three passes of at least 20 yards.
