LSU PLAYER OF THE GAME

Cabrera was responsible for getting the Tigers back in the game during the first six innings. Trailing 3-0, LSU cut its deficit to one run in the bottom of the first when Cabrera delivered a two-run single. After the Tigers fell behind 5-2 in the top of the third, Cabrera answered with a two-run homer in the bottom half of the inning. Cabrera then tied the score at 5-5 with a solo home run to lead off the sixth. Cabrera’s two home runs and five runs batted in were career-highs. Cabrera also made two excellent catches in leftfield. He caught a ball off the top of the wall off the bat of Horton in the seventh. One inning later, Cabrera made a diving catch on a line drive hit by Tingelstad.
