LSU's tempo blasts CMU 49-21
After a lackluster offensive showing against McNeese last week, LSU debuted a new-look, high-pace tempo offense against Central Michigan. The result was a 49-21 beat down and nearly 500 yards of offense.

The War Room - LSU football signing day eve
Pre signing day even war room*** I spoke with a Texas source today and schools are doing their best to try and flip wide receiver commit JoJo Earle. Texas A&M and Alabama are the two main threats to LSU. He won't sign with LSU tomorrow so we will see how this plays out. *** Five-star defensive lineman Maason Smith will sign at 3:30pm CST tomorrow and while some have tried to add some drama to his signing, it will be LSU. Georgia is a distant second.*** The guy that most people are nervous about is offensive tackle Tristan Leigh. I believe the negative recruiting done by other schools has chipped away at LSU's lead. After talking with people today I don't feel that LSU's confidence level is where it was weeks ago. The Florida visit for Leigh was a good one or as good as it can be for an unofficial visit without meeting with coaches. Leigh's girlfriend is supposed to be attending UCF, so the distance between those two schools could be a part of his thought process.Leigh will sign with the school of his choice tomorrow but he won't announce his decision until January 2nd on NBC. I am not saying Leigh is a lost cause but I have him as a possible rather than a probable now.*** 5-star defensive end Korey Foreman will also sign tomorrow but announced on January 2. I think it's either USC or Clemson with Arizona State being a wildcard. *** Penscacola-Catholic cornerback Damarius McGhee will sign with LSU tomorrow. I've had him predicted to the Tigers for several weeks. *** Four-star wide receiver Brian Thomas of Walker High School will not sign tomorrow as he will sign in February. It's going to be interesting to see how the wide receiver position finishes out after tomorrow and through January. There's a chance that Southside wide receiver Malik Nabers sends LSU his national letter of intent tomorrow. LSU aint going to take six wide receivers in this class if Earle sticks.*** There is a chance that LSU ends up with three running back signees tomorrow. Long time commit Corey Kiner is going to sign and LSU has made things very interesting with Logan Diggs of Rummel and Armoni Goodwin the former Auburn commit. Notre Dame recruiting analyst tells me tonight that Irish coaches seem to feel more confident in holding onto Diggs but we'll see. I projected Goodwin to LSU several weeks ago.*** Long time California linebacker commit Raesjon Davis is not signing tomorrow but Navonteque Strong will be after he decommitted from Mississippi State earlier today. He's another one I put in a LSU prediction for.*** Long time safety commit Khari Gee might sign tomorrow but i think he could wait it out until February. There's been some thought process with him as LSU has discussed him playing linebacker. *** The LSU offensive line situation is a scary one. I get that LSU can possibly get Ed Ingram, Liam Shanahan, Austin Deculus and others to return but you need three or four young capable linemen in this class. If Dellinger is the only signee tomorrow and Leigh's paperwork lands somewhere else, then they are going to have to give it everything they've got in January with what's still able to be had on the high school front. Then there's JUCO prospects and graduation transfers.*** Some of the talk in the last few weeks has been about wide receiver commit Jack Bech putting on weight to be a H-back/tight end due to Arik Gilbert's status being up in the air. I do think Bech can do some things unique inside but I do not think he can be effective with an additional 15-25 pounds on his frame. I know he's only a senior in high school, but i think muscle wise he doesn't need to get any bigger. I dont see where it can be put on his frame without it hurting his game. We'll see. *** Tonight we learn that long time defensive end commit Keanu Koht is wavering on his commitment to LSU with folks in Tuscaloosa feeling that if he signs tomorrow it will be with the Crimson Tide. Sal Sunseri has gotten Koht all twisted up. I'm told LSU is battling hard late tonight. I'm going to add more to this War Room as I get it. I'm sure I'm going to read it and realize i missed some things. Feel free to ask me questions below.

The War Room - December 3, 2020
*** LSU now has 20 commitments after DT Anthony Hundley and LB Naquan Brown reopened their recruiting processes. This is what I have been referencing for about a month now. I thought the movement would have started a bit earlier, but it might not be the last. Senior film on some prospects have not measured up and there are also some kids who's academics might not be where they need to be. So stay tuned!*** For a while I've thought that LSU might just decide to roll with one running back for 2021 in commit Corey Kiner (he signs with LSU on Dec. 16). Especially wth two stellar backs in Trevor Etienne and Le'Veon Moss in-state for 2022. I'm told they are budgeted for two and are pushing for two. Long-time Auburn commit Armoni Goodwin reopened his recruiting process last week and LSU feels darn good about where they are positioned with him. Goodwin says Auburn still a possibility, FSU is a factor but this one is...LSU probable.*** Walker wide receiver Brian Thomas is still a possibility to LSU. Earlier today I spoke with a Texas A&M source and he's not hearing much on Aggies with Thomas. That leaves Alabama as the main competitor. It's going to be interesting to see how this one plays out. He's not expected to sign in a few weeks. LSU possible*** Five star offensive lineman Tristan Leigh. Confidence level is still high with LSU for Leigh. I'm keeping him in the probable category based on what i've picked up this week. Oklahoma, Ohio State and others have made pushes but I still think Coach Cregg's relationship carries the day.Leigh just announced on twitter that he's visiting Oklahoma this weekend. Heading into this weekend i'm keeping LSU probable but let's see how he comes out of the visit to Norman. LSU probable*** Offensive guard/center Savion Byrd, Duncanville, TX, I've had him in the probable category for a few months and i'm knocking him down to possible. The kid could still end up staying close to home with SMU. Makes no sense to most people but we'll see how this plays out. LSU possible*** Who are the other offensive line possibilities? I'm told they want at least three or "four if they are the right four". Others to watch out forOL Kimo Makaneole , FSU commit, Niceville, Fla.OL Caleb Etienne Butler CC (prepped at Warren Easton). Currently committed to Oklahoma St.OL Jordan Moko, Snow College (JUCO) Ephraim, Utah.OL Rayshaun Benny (currently committed to Michigan St. as DL)*** LSU is still after several defensive ends in Shemar Turner of Desoto, TX and Bryce Langston of Vanguard HS in Ocala, Fla. Turner is going to be difficult to land. Texas A&M folks are confident on him. Langston is a stones throw from Gainesville and the Gators are the favorite.*** On defense the focus has been safety and linebacker for LSU. Four safeties on board and that could be one more of U-High's Jardin Gilbert chooses LSU on January 2. Khari Gee could be a linebacker. Linebackers to watch out for include JUCO linebacker Navonteque Strong of Mississippi Gulf Coast (Miss. St. commit) and Georgia's Trevin Wallace of Jesup (Ga.) Wayne County. Wallace was committed to Boston College but backed off of that pledge. His stock has flown through the roof in recent weeks as his senior film has been spectacular. Same goes for Strong has he reminds some of Patrick Queen.*** Five-star defensive lineman Maason Smith is going to sign on December 16 and he's firmly in the probable category.*** Five-star defensive lineman Korey Foreman was just about set to come to Baton Rouge earlier this week and now that is not happening. USC is making a push as has Arizona State for several months then a surprise visit back to Clemson last week.. Does this all come back around to him staying out west after being committed to Clemson, leaning to LSU and Georgia? Going to be interesting. *** A lot of people are getting nervous about long-time linebacker commit Raesjon Davis' flirtation with USC and the possibility of him not signing in a few weeks. Davis has been one of the most active Tiger commits trying to recruit others to the LSU 2021 class. Ed Orgeron and staff need to make sure that they get him signed on December 16. They don't need to let that one to go to 2021. Especially since linebacker is such a need position and he's one of nation's best.
