Where Things Stand with Darius Gray
We're two weeks out from Richmond (Va.) 5-star IOL Darius Gray commitment, and here's where things stand with the nation's No. 1 IOL.Gray will decide between LSU, Tennessee, South Carolina, Ohio State, and Clemson on August 22nd. The latest buzz is the Gamecocks may have surged into the pole position for Gray with two weeks to go. LSU was the presumed leader for much of the end of spring and throughout summer, but the proximity of being closer to home and a strong push from Shane Beamer is what has some believing USC is out in front. No need to hit the panic button just yet, as LSU has consistently held Gray as a top priority in the 2026 class and Brad Davis had put the work in to position LSU in a good position. From talking with sources, it sounds like LSU will make a strong push closer to his commitment date that will hopefully help secure his pledge come the 22nd.Gray has gone on to say multiple times about how much he values his relationship with Coach Davis, and how highly he feels about Brad Davis' abilities as a coach and knows it's likely the nest place for him to go to be developed.Ultimately I still think LSU pulls this one out.
