We're officially in the early signing period, and Day 1 answered plenty of questions as far as how this first class under Lane Kiffin looks to shape out.Signed Players:Richard Anderson : the 5-star DL showed up at Edna Karr's signing day event, dressed up and prepared to sign. And that's exactly what he did… so it seems. Anderson publicly reaffirmed his pledge to LSU on Wednesday and said he was signing with the Tigers, but after confirming with multiple staffers his NLI still isn't officially in yet. Reason to worry? Maybe… however LSU still feels confident it ultimately gets in this week.Havon Finney Jr. : Early in the day it was being reported that Havon was planning on delaying his signing, but then the afternoon rolled around and he made the decision to in fact sign with the Tigers. I spoke with Havon about the decision, he told me he talked with Tiger DB coach Corey Raymond and got a good enough feeling out of the call that he would be likely retained, so that's why he decided to put pen to paper today. However, he is very much so tied to CRay. If he isn't retained, expect Havon to hit the portal.Corey Barber : The former Ole Miss commit wasted no time committed to and then signing with LSU this morning. A big addition to the WR haul for Lane and the Tigers.Jabari Mack Brayden Allen JC Anderson : the recent Ole Miss flip sent his NLI in to LSU today and will have a public signing on Friday he tells me.Brysten Martinez : despite a late push from Texas over the past several weeks, LSU hangs onto the talented in-state OL.Ryan Miret Aiden Hall Dezyrian Ellis Isaiah Washington : this one was almost another processed situation. Washington didn't get the green light to sign until late last night from Lane and Co.LSU officially signed 10 players today, and one still waiting to be officially official in DL Richard Anderson.Lookout for the rest of the week:Landon Duckworth : after confirming last night that Lane and staff was working the phones last night, with 4-star QB Landon Duckworth being one of several flip targets, today there was a TON of momentum picked up towards pulling off the flip. It appears Scar's side is losing confidence that they'll keep him but was told a last ditch effort is being made on their part. Still no indication on when exactly he plans on signing.Lamar Brown : unlike Anderson, Lamar did not in fact sign today, however unlike previous reports of him not signing this week, there is growing optimism I have been able to confirm with staffers that he eventually signs at some point this week, we'll see. I will include that he has wiped his socials of all LSU stuff, could be an attention grab.Trenton Henderson : talked to Henderson again today, still tells me he wants more confirmation on what the defensive staff will look like, but insists he has no intentions of flipping elsewhere. Still unsure whether or not he will sign this week.Deuce Geralds : one of the surprises today, was scheduled to sign this afternoon and had told me that was the case as recent as early this morning, however his attitude changed very quickly and later announced he would be delaying his signing until Friday. Talked to him after that was announced, he said "i talked it over with my family and we decided I shouldn't go into this decision blind (about the defensive staff)." He also said he remains committed to LSU and that the rumors about Georgia Tech and Ole Miss are exactly that right now. He confirmed both schools are pushing for him but he is focused on getting more clarity from LSU first.Joel Wyatt : LSU tried to take a swing here last night but to no avail. He signed with Tennessee this morning.Jaelen Waters : similar situation as Wyatt, tried for a flip as Waters is a big CRay fan but he remained with Miami.Jase Mathews : still on schedule to sign on Friday and both LSU and Ole Miss are gunning to flip him from Auburn. Latest on this was Ole Miss didn't have much confidence, and they agreed it sounds like LSU is in a good position as of now.Jerquaden Guilford : Guilford nearly committed to Lane when he was in Oxford, thus it was no surprise Kiffin tried late last night to flip him to LSU. This morning he announced he would sign with Ohio State, however then news broke out about Buckeyes WR Coach Brian Hartline leaving for USF, and now Guilford is reconsidering his options. Sounds like a decision is expected to come tomorrow and it'll be either OSU or LSU.Carmelow Reed : announced yesterday that he would be picking between LSU and Ole Miss today, to no surprise he signed with the Rebels.Dylan Berymon : still plans on waiting until February to sign.Bryson Cooley : hasn't signed yet but there is still zero expectation for him to end up in LSU's class. He's rep deciding between Ole Miss and Alabama and will sign on Friday.
