First Decommit Domino Falls in '26 Class
Earlier today 4-star Lake Nona (Fla.) EDGE DeAnthony Lafayette decommitted from the Tigers, becoming the first recruit to do so since the announcement of Brian Kelly's firing.Earlier in the week I hinted at the possibility of this coming soon, and days later he makes the decision to open up his recruitment. Lafayette shared with me that the uncertainty surrounding Coach Peeples being on the staff long-term is what ultimately led to his decision to remove himself from the class. Expect Miami to be the pick whenever he makes his next commitment decision. FSU is throwing a ton of money at him but he can't see himself playing for them. This will likely be the first of a few pieces to leave, the other most notable one that could come any day now is 4-star OL Bryson Cooley as he has been trending heavily to Mississippi State for a couple weeks now. Brysten Martinez and Havon Finney Jr. are also ones to keep an eye on as they have scheduled visits to other schools here towards the end of the season. As I'll continue to say, signing day can't come soon enough…

Tiger Commits Looking Elsewhere
Since the firing of Brian Kelly, LSU's 2026 class has remained in tact, and even gained another commitment after the announcement. However, there has been an increase in rumblings about potential commits looking elsewhere and in particular, the out-of-state guys are the ones to watch.Bryson Cooley : The 4-star OL from Mississippi hasn't kept it a secret that he has remained in heavy schools, most notably Miss State and Georgia. Cooley has taken multiple gameday visits to Starkville and is now trending to move his commitment over to the Bulldogs in the near future. DeAnthony Lafayette : The 4-star pass rusher out of the Sunshine State has made it very clear that the biggest reason he chose the Tigers was because of Coach Peoples, who was one of the first believers in Lafayette. Due to Lafayette's size for the position, he was overlooked a lot early on and is only starting to see the recognition he deserves as of recent. Despite saying he would prefer to stay with LSU, it seems as it will highly depend on whether or not Peoples is retained on staff. DeAnthony shared with me that with the uncertainty with Peoples' job at LSU, he has been reopening conversations with schools like FSU and Miami, with the Hurricanes being the main threat. He has a solid relationship with Coach Taylor down there, and there is a very solid chance he signs with the Canes next month.Havon Finney Jr. : the highly talented 4-star CB out of California has also reopened communication with other schools since the coaching decision, with Michigan and USC posing as the biggest threats. A visit to Ann Harbor is in the works, but Finney did tell me that he is still locked in with the Tigers, but the bulk of that reason is because of Corey Raymond. It seems that, much like Lafayette, his position coach will play a huge factor in his decision to stick or flip.As for others, Florida will make a big final push for Trenton Henderson , Miami and Texas A&M are gunning hard for Lamar Brown , Texas just hosted Brysten Martinez , and even Ohio State is looking to try to flip Darryus McKinley
Flip alerts.
Looks like LSU commits Bryson Cooley and DeAnthony Lafayette are about to flip their commitments.
