Punter Peyton Todd of West Monroe is a LSU commitment
LSU's special teams has been very special over the years and it went next level with the addition of coach Greg McMahon.
McMahon arrived on the LSU coaching staff and found specialists Cole Tracy and Avery Atkins so he has an eye for great talent.
After months of scouting and contact with Class of 2021 punter Peyton Todd, the LSU offer arrived and the commitment was accepted.
“I’ve been in contact with Coach Mac, the special teams coordinator, for a couple months now within legal contact periods of course and when Coach O called my head coach yesterday morning I had already had my mind made up,” Todd said.
The 6-foot-5, 210-pound Todd gives LSU their second commitment for the class of 2021.
“LSU is where I’ve wanted to be my entire life and I dont see any other school changing my mind so why not take it?,” Todd said. “I’m really blessed to be presented this opportunity and I’m gonna do my best to make the most of it!
As a sophomore, Todd average over 43 yards a punt and had 20 pooch punts land inside the 20.
“LSU is the school for me because they strive for excellence in every aspect of college. Not only is their football program one of the best in the nation, but also their academics. A degree from LSU I know can take me a long way after college. Another thing that I love about LSU is the culture. I’ve grown up in Louisiana and if there is one thing I have learned it is that there are so many people that want to set you up for success and see you achieve. I feel LSU is going to do just that for me. They are going to place me where I need to be to put me on a path for the rest of my life.
