Joe Burrow and Cade York named SEC players of the week

OFFENSE
Joe Burrow, QB, LSU

Set career-highs for passing yards (471) and completions (31) in leading LSU to its first-ever road win over a Top 10 ranked non-conference opponent in the 45-38 victory over No. 9 Texas in Austin.

Finished game 31-of-39 for 471 yards, 4 TDs and an interception ... His 471 passing yards ranks No. 2 in school history, his 479 total yards (471 pass, 8 rushing) ranks No. 2 in school history, and the 31 completions tie for the second-highest total in LSU history.

The 45 points LSU scored against Texas was the most by the Tigers against a Top 10 opponent since a 48-7 win over No. 9 Virginia Tech in 2007 ... Extended his school-record streak of consecutive games with at least 20 completions to five straight.

Beginning with LSU's first possession of the second quarter, seven of LSU's last eight possessions of game ended in points (5 TDs, 2 FGs).

LSU punted only twice during the game and racked up 573 total yards ... Is now 12-3 as LSU's starting quarterback.

SPECIAL TEAMS
Cade York, PK, LSU

Remained perfect for the year as he connected on all three of his field goal attempts in the win over Texas.

Kicked field goals of 36, 33, and 40 yards ... Made all four extra-points in the win.

Is now 5-of-5 on field goals and 11-of-11 on extra-points for the season.

DEFENSE
Nick Bolton, LB, Missouri

Led a huge defensive effort that saw the Tigers pitch a shutout until the final five minutes of the game, as part of Mizzou's dominant 38-7 win over West Virginia Saturday.

Made a game-high 10 tackles (three tackles for loss - both film-adjusted) and added a pair of interceptions (the first two of his career) on the day, including one that he returned 20 yards for his first career touchdown in the third quarter.

Bolton became the first Tiger linebacker with a pair of interceptions in a game since 2015, when All-American Kentrell Brothers had two picks against Arkansas State.

He was also the first Tiger since former All-American LB Sean Weatherspoon (2008 vs. Illinois) to record two interceptions in a game, with at least one being returned for a score.

Mizzou's defense held WVU to only 30 yards rushing on the day (with 32 yards coming in their final two drives against Tiger reserves) - that's the fewest allowed to a Power 5 opponent since 2007, when Mizzou held Texas Tech to minus-nine yards rushing in a 41-10 win.

Mizzou allowed only 171 yards of offense to the Mountaineers - the fewest by any FBS opponent in the Barry Odom era, and the fewest overall by an FBS team against Mizzou since 2013, when the Tigers limited Florida to just 151 yards of total offense in a 36-17 win.

OFFENSIVE LINE
Landon Young, OT, Kentucky

Graded at 91 percent in Kentucky's win over Eastern Michigan.

Led the team with seven knockdown blocks and 24 blocks at the point of attack.

Did not allow any quarterback sacks or pressures and did not have any missed assignments or penalties.

Had a knockdown block on UK's first rushing touchdown and point-of-attack blocks on UK's other two rushing TDs.

As a team, UK had 461 yards total offense, including 200 each in rushing and passing.

UK has scored 38 points in each of its first two games, first time that has happened since 2007.

Darryl Williams, C, Mississippi State

Williams, a preseason All-SEC selection, graded out the highest for an MSU rushing attack that produced 210 yards against a Southern Miss defense that hadn't surrendered a 100-yard rusher in 15 games.

Williams allowed zero pressures in his start at center.

Southern Miss entered the game having not surrendered 30 or more points in 12 consecutive games, representing the fifth longest streak in the nation.

DEFENSIVE LINE
Marlon Davidson, DL, Auburn

Led the Auburn defensive front with six tackles, 2.0 tackle for loss and three QB pressures.

Part of an Auburn defense that held Tulane to six points (two FG), 223 total yards and just 2-of-15 on third down.

Two of six stops were on third-down holds.

FRESHMAN
Matt Corral, QB, Ole Miss

Completed 16-of-24 passes for 246 yards and two touchdowns in leading Ole Miss past Arkansas.

Also added 46 yards on the ground.

It marked a career-high in attempts, completions, passing yards and rushing attempts (10).

It was the second time in his career that he's thrown for two TDs in a game.
