Kickoff for the contest is scheduled for 2:30 p.m. and the game will be televised on CBS.

LSU’s five guest captains will be recognized on the field prior to the game.

Hodson and Fuller connected on what is one of college football’s most unforgettable plays, a fourth quarter touchdown that lifted LSU to a 7-6 victory over fourth-ranked Auburn in 1988. The play resulted in such a thunderous eruption from the 79,.341 fans in Tiger Stadium that the LSU Department of Geology registered vibrations on a seismograph machine at the exact moment the touchdown was scored.

The 1988 LSU-Auburn contest was dubbed the “Earthquake Game” and is considered one of the top moments in the history of the Southeastern Conference.

In 1995, Twillie and the Tigers helped “Bring Back the Magic” under first-year coach Gerry DiNardo as LSU knocked off No. 5 Auburn, 12-6, in Tiger Stadium. With LSU wearing white jerseys at home for the first time since the early 1980s, Twillie intercepted a Patrick Nix pass in the endzone as time expired to preserve the Tiger victory.

In 2007, Byrd caught a 22-yard touchdown pass from Matt Flynn with just one second remaining that sent the Tigers to a 30-24 win over Auburn in Tiger Stadium. The play seemed to have caught Auburn off-guard as the Tigers could have attempted a 39-yard field goal for the win. However, LSU took one final shot at the endzone as Flynn connected with Byrd for the score, who then gave the “Can’t See Me” gesture to the LSU student section after coming up with the catch.

LSU went on to post a 12-2 mark in 2007 and claim the school’s third national title in football.

Then last year at Jordan-Hare Stadium, LSU rallied from a 21-13 deficit midway through the fourth quarter behind the play of quarterback Joe Burrow and a strong defensive effort.

Burrow connected with Derrick Dillon for 71 yards to pull LSU within 21-19 at the 8:18 mark. After a defensive stop by LSU and with just over five minutes left in the contest, Burrow marched the Tigers down the field on a 14-play, 52-yard drive to the Auburn 24 where Cole Tracy drilled a 42-yard field goal as time expired, sending LSU to a 22-21 win over seventh-ranked Auburn in Jordan-Hare Stadium.

Tracy’s field goal marked the first time in school history LSU won a game on a field goal on the final play of regulation.
