JaCoby Stevens and Maurice Hampton named SEC players of the week

LSU safety JaCoby Stevens was named SEC defensive player of the week while Maurice Hampton was named Freshman player of the week after their strong performances against Arkansas.

DEFENSE
JaCoby Stevens, LB, LSU

Set career-highs for sacks (3.0) and tackles for loss (4.0) in the 56-20 win over Arkansas ... Posted 8 total tackles as the Tigers limited the Razorbacks to 304 total yards (114 rushing, 190 passing).

His sacks came on three consecutive possessions to start the second half and led to Arkansas punts on each possession ... Sacks went for losses of 7, 11 and 10 yards in the third quarter.

Added a tackle for an 8-yard loss in the second quarter ... Accounted for 34 yards in losses for Arkansas ... Had a QB hurry as well.

FRESHMAN
Maurice Hampton, S, LSU

In first career start, had 6 tackles in helping LSU to a 56-20 win over Arkansas ... Started in place of All-America Grant Delpit.

LSU held Arkansas to 304 total yards ... With the score 49-6, Arkansas accounted for 122 of its 304 yards in the fourth quarter.

Entered the game with only 1 tackle for the entire season ... Had a tackle on the first play of his first start.

Four tackles came in first half as LSU built a 28-6 lead at halftime as the Razorbacks had only 100 yards of offense through two quarters.

OFFENSE
Jarrett Guarantano, QB, Tennessee

Tallied a career-high 415 passing yards to go along with two touchdowns on the SEC's No. 1 pass defense in a 24-20 victory at Missouri to give the Vols six wins and secure a bowl berth for the first time since 2016.

Guarantano finished 23-of-40 for 415 yards and two touchdowns with zero turnovers against a Tigers' defense that entered the game allowing only 297.6 total yards, including 165.9 passing yards.

Guarantano's performance marked the fourth-highest passing total in Tennessee history and the most passing yards in seven years. Only Peyton Manning and Tyler Bray have thrown for more yards in a single game in Tennessee history.

Guaranto spread the ball around equally as Tennessee had three different receivers eclipse 100 yards for the first time in school history.

SPECIAL TEAMS
Rodrigo Blankenship, PK, Georgia

Blankenship drilled all four of his field goal attempts, including a 49 yarder in the driving rain, and hit his only PAT during the Bulldogs' 19-13 win over No. 24 Texas A&M

Connecting on kicks from 41, 49, 37 and 31 yards, he is now the FBS active leader by 15 with 76 made field goals and became UGA's all-time leading scorer with 418 points (No. 2 in SEC history).

His school record 190th consecutive PAT also ranks second in league history and keeps Georgia at the top nationally with 281 PATs made in a row dating back to 2014.

OFFENSIVE LINE
Trey Smith, OL, Tennessee

Had Tennessee's highest offensive line grade and totaled six knockdowns as the Vols totaled a season-best 526 yards of total offense, including 415 passing yards, at Missouri in a 24-20 win.

Smith was dominant against one of the nation's best defenses. Missouri entered the game allowing only 297.6 total yards (10th in the nation) and had the SEC's best pass defense, allowing only 165.9 yards through the air per game (sixth in the nation).

Smith enabled QB Jarrett Guarantano to become only the third Vol QB to pass for 415 yards as UT had three 100-yard receivers for the first time in school history.

DEFENSIVE LINE
Marlon Davidson, DE, Auburn

In just 23 snaps, recorded four tackles, one sack (minus 7) and 2.5 tackles for loss (minus 15).

Helped Auburn pitch its first shutout since of the season and first since 2018 vs. Liberty.

Part of an Auburn defense that held Samford to 114 yards, the fewest by an Auburn opponent since 2017 (Georgia Southern, 78).
