Ed Orgeron and the LSU coaching staff hit the graduate transfer jackpot Thursday as linebacker Jabril Cox announced his decision to enroll at LSU for his last year of eligibility.

The 6-foot-3, 230-pound Cox was an FCS All-American after each of his three years playing for the Bison.

In a recent radio interview Cox stated his relationship with new LSU defensive coordinator Bo Pelini as a factor in his recruiting process.

"My first game in FCS was against his team," Cox said. "That was my coming out party. Me and him, we have had a great relationship. I have always caught up with him after games. He is just a great coach, overall."

In three years at North Dakota State, had has totaled 258 tackles (32 for loss0.  He added 14 sacks, 18 passes defended, six interceptions, three fumble recoveries and a forced fumble.

North Dakota State, won an FCS national championship each year he was a part of their program.  That’s part of a run that has seen the Bison win eight titles in nine seasons.

Cox was set to visit LSU officially last month but that visit was cancelled when the NCAA indefinitely suspended all sports and program related activities.

Cox attended Raytown South High School in Raytown, Missouri which is a suburb of Kansas City.
