In a statement released by Jones on Twitter said...

“First of all I want to thank God for all of my blessings. I want to thank my mother for sacrificing so much to provide for me and my siblings. Although my recruiting process was altered by Covid-19, I want to thank all of the colleges who expressed interest in me. I will cherish the relationships that came out of this process.

“I pray that we can play next season, so me and my brothers can DO IT AGAIN (State title). They make me better. So grateful for my coaches and our community in St. James. I always wanted to further my education and football career at a place where my heart led me. Where I felt like family, and where my family and friends are a part of my journey. With that being said, I am committing to the LSU Tigers. Represent the Boot! Dedicated in memory of my Nanny JeNaiya!”

Jones finished his junior season with 103 tackles, 17 tackles for loss, two fumbled forced and 13 sacksfour pass breakups.  His St. James team went 15-0 with a State Championship.
