2022 DT Shone Washington commits to LSU
LSU's torrid pace in recruiting is not letting up as class of 2022 defensive tackle Shone Washington of New Orleans (La.) Warren Easton has given Ed Orgeron his verbal commitment.
Washington announced his commitment on Fox 8 WVUE during their sportcast.
“They were excited, Coach O was Coach O on the phone. He was loud,” Washington said when asked about LSU’s reaction to his commitment decision.
The 6-foot-4, 300-pound Washington did not get to play the 2019 football season as he was ruled ineligible by the LHSAA under transfers rules.
“i was at Easton the first semester of my freshman year then transferred to John Ehret the second semester, then transferred back that year in April,” Washington said.
Despite missing last season, LSU head football coach Ed Orgeron extended a scholarship offer to Washington in March.
“It means a lot to me coming from west side of New Orleans,” Washington said in a recent interview with TigerBait.com. “We really don’t have many defensive tackles that went there from my side of town.
Washington chose LSU over offers from Alabama, Texas A&M, Florida, Texas, Georgia, USC, Ole Miss, Virginia, Mississippi State and many others.
