Cornerback Darren Evans enrolls at LSU

Nicholls State grad transfer cornerback Darren Evans has enrolled at LSU with a day to spare as Wednesday is the last day to enroll for grad school classes.  

The 6-foot-3, 180-pound Evans arrived in the NCAA transfer portal last month and has been reported to be the guy most likely to fill the one unsigned scholarship spot leftover from the Tigers 2020 signing class.

Evans prepped at Baton Rouge’s Glen Oaks High School.

Last season, he played in all 14 of the Colonels games.  He was fifth amongst FCS players with 15 pass breakups. he totaled 47 tackles with 33 of the solo variety and one interception.

Evans could have two years of eligibility at LSU as the 2020 season will not be counted due to Covid-19.
