Five-star safety Sage Ryan commits to LSU
It was a dogfight with many nervous moments this week, but LSU got their man as five-star safety Sage Ryan of Lafayette Christian Academy has announced his commitment to LSU.
“For the next three or four years I will be attending Louisiana State University,” Ryan said while then unzipping his hoodie revealing a LSU golf shirt.
He then had an emotional group hug with his mom and head coach Trev Faulk (uncle and former LSU linebacker).
Ryan committed to LSU in front of family and friends at LCA. He chose LSU over Alabama in a hard-fought recruiting battle. Clemson was also a strong factor with Ryan.
“My family guided me through this process and like my uncle (Faulk) said, it’s family over everything,” Ryan said. “My people are in Louisiana so that is what I went with.”
The 5-foot-11 safety is considered by many to be the nation’s No.1 prospect at his position. With his pledge, LSU now has 20 commitments for the class of 2021.
LSU assistants Corey Raymond and Kevin Faulk both recruited Ryan for the Tigers coaching staff. Faulk is Ryan’s cousin.
