One of the most important prospects on LSU's board for the class of 2022 has given Ed Orgeron his verbal commitment.

TigerBait.com Five-star offensive tackle Will Campbell‍ of Monroe (La.) Neville announced via social media Saturday evening that he is a Tiger.  He chose LSU over Alabama, TCU, Notre Dame, Tennessee and Oklahoma.

“I’m excited. I have a really good opportunity play at this school and it’s something I can’t pass up,” Campbell told TigerBait.com. “It’s an opportunity to play early and hopefully get some reps as a true freshman which will help me a lot going down the road.”

The commitment from the 6-foot-6, 285-pound Campbell gives LSU eight commitments for the class of 2022.

“Will is a first class kid from a first class family and he works extremely hard to get better at his craft,” Neville head football coach Jeff Tannehill said. “I think things are where they need to be and he’s got a good head on his shoulders.”

Campbell is being recruited to LSU by Tigers offensive line coach James Cregg.

“They’ve (LSU) always had a lead on some schools but schools like Oklahoma and Alabama made a great push so it was a really tough decision,” Campbell said. “But It’s (LSU) is where i want to be, it’s where my family is, it’s where some of my best friends are going to play so this is where i want to be.”

Campbell’s parents are totally on-board with his decision.

“They are excited and they want me to be happy,” Campbell said. “If this where i’m going to be happy then this is where they want me to be.”

Campbell got animated when talking about helping his close friend and fellow class of 2022 LSU commit Walker Howard‍ lure some more top prospects to Baton Rouge.

“He just facetime’d me about five minutes ago throwing up the “L” and he’s known and now some recruiting to bring us a national championship team back to the boot.”

Some of the prospects Campbell wants to join him in LSU’s recruiting class include some fellow offensive linemen.

“We are going to make sure we get both of them ( Emery Jones‍ and Bo Bordelon‍), Campbell said. “We are going to get us another Joe Moore award”.

That’s the award given to the nation’s top offensive line, which LSU won in 2019.
