New LSU linebackers coach Blake Baker and Tigers head football coach Ed Orgeron have gotten their man in four-star linebacker DeMario Tolan‍ of Orlando (Fla.) Dr. Phillips.

Tolan announced his commitment live on CBS Sports.

“They (LSU) are getting everything out of me,” Tolan said.  “I’m really looking forward to being a great man and a great teammate and leaving my individual goals up to God.”

The 6-foot-3, 210-pound Tolan chose LSU over Miami, Florida State, Tennessee and Clemson.  He’s a consensus four-star linebacker nationally.

Tolan visited LSU officially last month and had this to say to TigerBait.com after.

“Coach O and Coach Blake showed me how much they wanted me throughout the whole visit,” Tolan said.

Baker was pariticularly vital in Tolan choosing LSU as he has been recruiting him since he was the Defensive Coordinator at Miami.

“I’ve always had good thoughts on him,” Tolan said regarding Baker. “He recruited me out of Miami so that’s a big reason why I have good thoughts on him.”

With Tolan’s pledge, LSU now has 13 commitments for the class of 2022.  The Tigers recruiting class is currently ranked as one of the nation’s Top-5 recruiting classes.
