High four-star offensive guard Emery Jones‍ of Baton Rouge (La.) Catholic High has announced his verbal commitment to LSU.

The 6-foot-5, 320-pound Jones chose LSU over Florida State, Arkansas, Tennessee, Alabama, Auburn, Texas A&M, Georgia, Penn St., Ole Miss and many others.

“I picked LSU because of the family vibe that I got, with Catholic being in my back yard, and also my family and friends being close to me I just,” Jones told TigerBait.com. “I felt that it would really be a place that would be easier for me to grow.”

Jones pledge gives LSU 16 commitments for the class of 2022.  He is the fourth offensive lineman to commit to this years class and he’s without a doubt out one of the best guard prospects to come out of Louisiana this century.

“I'm very excited. I'm really glad to let the world know, and also really excited to go and get ready to focus on my senior season,” Jones said.

In the month of June, Jones visited Florida State, Arkansas and Tennessee officially.  He also had a stand-out performance on one of Ed Orgeron’s camp days.

New LSU offensive line coach Brad Davis was recruiting Jones when he was at Arkansas so their relationship has been building for quite some time.
