One of the more desired and elite prospects to enter the transfer portal this cycle has announced his commitment to LSU.
Former Missouri defensive tackle Mekhi Wingo (6-1, 275) has pledged to LSU over offers from Oklahoma, USC and Arkansas.
Wingo was named to the ALL-SEC freshmen team after played in 11 games with three starts (vs. North Texas, vs. Texas A&M, at Vanderbilt) last season. He totaled 21 tackles, two tackles for loss of eight yards, one sack, one interception and two quarterback hurries.
He recorded seven multi-tackle games with tackles for loss vs. Central Michigan and vs. North Texas. He returned an interception for 40 yards and a touchdown against the Mean Green, Mizzou's first defensive score of the season.
Wingo was a consensus three-star prospect out of De Smet Jesuit High School in St. Louis (MO) in the class of 2021.
