Cornerback Daylen Austin commits to LSU
Class of 2023 four-star cornerback Daylen Austin Daylen of Long Beach (Calif.) Poly has announced his verbal commitment to LSU.
The 6-foot-1, 185-pound prospect committed to LSU over offers from Penn State, Alabama, Oregon, Georgia, Nebraka, Michigan State and USC.
Austin is being recruited to LSU by cornerbacks coach Robert Steeples. He was on the LSU campus for an unofficial visit the Thursday before the Tigers spring game.
Austin finished the 2021 season with 44 tackles, 1.5 tackles for loss, 11 passes defended, two interceptions, one forced fumble and one fumble recovered. He also had 17 punt returns for 277 yards and two touchdowns. On three kickoffs, he totaled 135 yards and a touchdown.
He says he still plans on officially visiting Penn State and Michigan State. With his pledge, LSU now has six commitments (3 DB’s) for the class of 2023.
