Top Louisiana WR Shelton Sampson commits to LSU

LSU head football coach Brian Kelly and his Tigers staff have received a verbal commitment from one of the biggest prizes in recruiting for the 2023 recruiting year.

The five-star wide receiver Shelton Sampson‍ of Baton Rouge (La.) Catholic High has announced he’s committed to LSU over Florida State, Alabama and Texas A&M.

The 6-foot-4, 200-pound Sampson was a significant part of Catholic High’s 2021 Louisiana Division I select state title.

Sampson is being recruited to LSU by Tigers wide receivers coach Cortez Hankton.  With his pledge LSU now has 18 commitments for the class of 2023.

The Tigers now have three wide receivers pledged as Sampson joins five-star wide receiver Jalen Brown‍ of Miami (Fla.) Gulliver Prep and three-star Kyle Parker‍ of Lucas (Tx) Lovejoy.
