Four-star quarterback Rickie Collins‍ of Baton Rouge (La.) Woodlawn has announced he is committed to the LSU Tigers.

In front of a packed house at Mason’s Grill in Baton Rouge, the 6-foot-2, 190-pound signal caller announced that he is a Tiger.

“Just to be in the hometown and to play for the home state,” Collins said.  “What it was is the family feeling they (LSU) gave me, the genuine love they gave me.

“They made it clear that they were going to give me a clear opportunity to be able to come on the field and play, so I couldn’t ask for anything more than that.”

Collins was a long-time Purdue commitment but he reopened his recruiting process on August 1.  He committed to LSU over those Boilermakers, Florida State, Oregon and many others.
