BREAKING: DJ Chester commits to LSU
Class of 2023 four-star offensive lineman DJ Chester of McDonough (Ga.) Eagle's Landing Christian has announced his verbal commitment to LSU.
The 6-foot-5, 300-pound Chester chose LSU over Ole Miss, Auburn, Florida State, Florida A&M and Michigan.
“What made the Tigers right for me was my major, they are the best in the nation with it,” Chester said. “LSU is the only big power five in Louisiana and also they are going to allow me to do track and field.
“That’s where me and my family felt most at home and at peace with.”

With Chester’s pledge, LSU now has 24 commitments for the class of 2023. He’s the fourth offensive lineman in the class joining four-star Lance Heard of Monroe, three star Paul Mubenga of Buford (Ga.), and four-star Tyree Adams of New Orleans.
LSU offensive line coach Brad Davis is recruiting Chester for the Tiger staff. Chester visited LSU officially in June and returned for a game in Tiger Stadium when the Tigers hosted the Southern Jaguars.
“What excites me is that he (Davis) is lbasically ike my other dad,” Chester said. “JR (Belton, Director of LSU recruiting) is also like an older brother to me. He’s been helping me get through the process even when i was unsteady.”
Chester is a consensus Top-10 offensive tackle nationally and he has high regard for what Brian Kelly is building at LSU.
“I know Coach Kelly is going to take us farther than anyone else thinks we can go,” Chester said. “I can’t wait to experience Death Valley at night”.
Chester will be attending LSU’s game with Alabama on Saturday.
