One of the positions where LSU has had the most difficult time recruiting out-of-state national talent from the high school ranks over the years is Quarterback.
Well, that has changed as consensus Top-100 four-star signal caller Max Johnson of Watkinsville, Ga. Oconee County has committed to the Tigers.
“I am greatful for the opportunity that Coach Orgeron and Coach Ensminger have given me,” Johnson said. “I’m excited to announce that I will be commiting to LSU! Geaux Tigers!”
The 6-foot-4, 215-pound pro-style quarterback gave Ed Orgeron his verbal commitment after spending multiple days in Baton Rouge witnessing the Tigers win over Rice and then waiting a few weeks.
Johnson who is the son of former NFL and Florida State Seminole quarterback Brad Johnson committed to LSU over his fathers alma mater as well as Miami, Georgia and many others.
With Johnson’s pledge, LSU now has seven commitments for the class of 2020. He’s the second quarterback commitment in the class to go along with Ponchatoula signal caller T.J. Finley.
