LSU class of 2024 quarterback commit Colin Hurley‍  was on campus Friday for the Tiger programs "Bayou Splash" recruiting event and he shared with TigerBait many thoughts on the day and what the future holds.

The 6-foot-1, 220-pound Hurley from Jacksonville (Fla.) Trinity Christian Academy shared the following early Saturday morning.

What’s there not to love about a trip home, to Baton Rouge? I love this place.

The Bayou Splash was lit! It was fun, sun, culture, essence, music, food and more. It was about so much more than just football.

Wet, wild and water was the theme, but Coach Kelly and the staff made sure this was a family-centered and athlete-centric event. He’s such a CEO and BOSS. You have to know him to understand. He’s just different.

Yes, this was a recruiting event and we had some of the best prospects in the country here. We had a ton of our commits here, as well as targets like Colin Simmons, Caden Durham, Blake Ivy, Ory Williams and others.

I tweeted out earlier today my thoughts on LSU Football. We’ve locked down the state of Louisiana, gone into other states like Florida, Tennessee, Georgia, North Carolina and Texas and picked up top talent. We’re about to pull off a flip. The BK TakeOver is real.

The event was well designed. We had water balloons, water guns, races and a ton of events. This is the type of event that brings people together. The athletes see what LSU is all about. Parents and families get a better look at what Coach Kelly is doing here. You can be elite. You can be a leader. You can do all of that and have fun.

It also positioned me and the other commits to continue to build relationships with the guys we’re targeting. The recruiting staff and coaching staff work hard to identify, recruit and bring guys into the program who are good fits and can contribute on and off the field.

I stay busy trying to build this class and it will all come together. I feel very confident about some of our targets from Texas. I think we are going to close out the state of Louisiana with a few more and then finish with a few flips.

This ‘24 Class will be a difference-maker. It will help to add depth, talent, leadership and playmakers to LSU Football.

LSU Football is back. We’re bringing a National Championship to Baton Rouge.
