Top Texas RB Caden Durham commits to LSU
LSU adds another blue-chip recruit to their Class of 2024 in Caden Durham.
Durham is a 5-foot-9, 180-pound running back from Duncanville High School in Duncanville, Texas. He chose LSU over Oklahoma, Texas A&M and many others.
LSU has been recruiting him for both football and track and field. He has visited LSU many times including several weeks ago for the Tigers "Bayou Splash: event.
The coaching staff was the main factor that won Durham over as his recruitment progressed, but the Bayou Splash put the icing on the cake.
“How the coaches actually show interest and I like their personalities in general,” Durham said.
Durham chose the Tigers over Oklahoma, Texas A&M, Alabama and more.
He finished his 2022 season with 1,960 yards and 36 touchdowns, averaging 9.33 yards per carry.
Durham is closest with Recruiting Specialist Sherman Wilson. The two grew closer over time and came to the point where they’d talk almost every day.
“Our relationship is real good. We talk almost every day,” Durham said. “”We talk about everything like life after football and how my family is doing.”
But Durham’s relationship with running backs coach, Frank Wilson, is also very strong. The two caught up at the Bayou Splash on Friday, which seems like it was a selling weekend for Durham.
“We were just talking about football really,” Durham said.
LSU now has 24 commitments for the class of 2024. Durham is LSU’s lone running back commitment.
