The LSU football recruiting momentum for the class of 2024 continues to speed forward and breakneck speed as offensive lineman Joseph Cryer‍ of Natchitoches (La.) Central has announced his commitment.

Cryer was committed to Ole Miss since June 2, but decommitted from the Rebels on Sunday. LSU offered him on Wednesday, and he visited just a day later. From there, it seemed all arrows pointed to LSU.

“I just grew up watching LSU,” Cryer said. “It means everything staying home and playing for my home state.”

Cryer is a 6-foot-4, 290-pound offensive lineman from Natchitoches Central High School in Natchitoches, Louisiana. He is former teammates with fellow LSU commit, four-star linebacker, Tylen Singleton, at Many High School.

While being from Louisiana played a big role in Cryer's decision to flip to LSU, the coaching staff played a significant part in his decision as well. Being an offensive lineman, Cryer is closest with offensive line coach, Brad Davis.

“My relationship with the staff is great,” Cryer said. “I love Coach [Brad] Davis. He is a great coach.”

But since Cryer has watched LSU growing up, he’s seen the program’s different phases of head coaches. However, after just one season at LSU, Brian Kelly has made it noticeable to recruits, including Cryer, that he is attempting to change the culture of the program, and Cryer is bought in.

“I like the culture Coach Kelly has brought into LSU,” Cryer said.

Cryer makes commitment No. 22 for LSU’s Class of 2024. The Tigers have landed back-to-back offensive lineman over the past two days, as they landed three-star offensive tackle, Ory Williams, on Sunday out of San Marcos High School in San Marcos, Texas.
