Four-star WR Jelani Watkins commits to LSU

Class of 2024 receiver Jelani Watkins‍ has committed to LSU. The four-star receiver out of Klein Forest High School in Houston, Texas becomes LSU’s 23rd commitment for the class of 2024.

“The atmosphere,  the staff is amazing and the players are cool,” Watkins told TigerBait. “It has the family atmosphere that I was looking for in a school.”

The 5-foot-10, 160-pound Watkins committed to LSU over offers from Texas A&M, Texas, Oregon, Michigan, Baylor, Miami, Arkansas and many others.

Watkins is the fourth wide receiver in LSU 2024 class. His commitment comes on the heels of LSU’s Bayou Splash recruiting event he attended on July, 28.  

Watkins was named All-Greater Houston Boys Track and Field Athlete of the Year this Summer after winning his second consecutive state title in the 200-meter dash running a 20.54.

He will also run track at LSU.
