LSU (5-2, 4-1) blasted Aubrun 48-18- Saturday night in Tiger Stadium.

LSU quickly jumped out to a 17-0 lead over Auburn (3-3, 0-3) and left no doubt in this one. LSU went on to score on eight of its 11 drives securing the blowout.

LSU QB Jayden Daniels and the offense once again had a big day outgaining Auburn 563-293.

Daniels added another 400-yard game to his Heisman resume completing 20 of 27 passes for 325 yards, three touchdowns and an interception. He had 93 yards on 11 rushes as well. Daniels now had 2,802 total yards and 26 total touchdowns this season.

LSU running back Logan Diggs has emerged to add a strong running element to the offense leading the Tigers in rushing with 97 yards and a touchdown on 18 carries.

LSU receivers Brian Thomas Jr. and Malik Nabers have been LSU’s dynamic duo of receivers thus far, but they took a back seat to Kyren Lacy in this game.

Lacy was LSU’s leading receiver with four catches for 111 yards and a touchdown. Nabers was shortly behind him with six grabs for 89 yards and a touchdown.

“Tonight we played very well,” LSU coach Brian Kelly said. “We got off to a good start. Our guys had a great mindset. We were the more physical team.”

LSU’s defense bounced back from some tough performances holding Auburn to just 18 points and less than 300 yards. Kelly had some strong praise for the unit after the game.

“I give our defense a lot of credit,” Kelly said. “Defensively we played more disciplined. They have been under a lot of scrutiny. We are fundamentally working on tackling every single day until we feel we are in the place we need to be.”

Auburn tested LSU cornerback Zy Alexander often in this game, and he ended up being LSU’s leading tackler with nine tackles and two pass breakups. LSU linebackers Omar Speights and Greg Penn were right behind him with eight and seven tackles respectively.
