Kicker Gavin Higgins commits to LSU
LSU has grabbed their kicker for the future in Gavin Higgins of Baton Rouge (La.) Parkview Baptist.
“I choose LSU because I grew up a tiger fan and I have been to countless games,” Higgins told TigerBait.com. “Walking into that stadium is a different type of feeling, than walking into other stadiums.
“It gives me the chills, and knowing it could be reality is a very cool feeling.”
The 5-foot-11, 185 pound Higgins finished the 2024 season with 48 of 50 kickoffs resulting in touchbacks. He was 36 of 37 on extra points and was 5 of 8 on field goals but two were blocked.
After a strong performance at last weeks camp, Higgins received his offer from LSU. He did not take long to make a decision.
LSU now has 10 total commitments for the class of 2026. Higgins is being recruited to LSU by Sr. special teams analyst Aman Anand.
“Coach Aman is great and we have been in communication since he first got there,” Higgins said. “He helped me understand more about LSU and how the special teams operates at LSU.”
Midterm enrollees from recruiting classes continue to increase each recruiting cycle. Higgins will be one of them next January.
“I am going to enroll early in January and get a head start on weightlifting and being with the team. “
