Brian Kelly and his LSU coaching staff picked up one of the nation's biggest recruiting prizes for the class of 2026 Thursday afternoon.

“It always started off with Coach (Brian) Kelly in my 9th grade year,” Brown said. “He was the first to offer, and he always believed in me. Playing for Baton Rouge and the state of Louisiana, it meant a lot.”

“I get to play Saturday nights in Death Valley and win a national championship.”

Defensive lineman Lamar Brown‍ of Baton Rouge (LA) University High School announced that LSU was his college choice in front of a large crowd at his school.  He chose the Tigers over Texas A&M, Texas and Miami.

Brown stands at 6-foot-4 and 300-pounds is regarded by many as the nation’s No.1 defensive line prospect. Some classify him as an athlete as he can also play on the offensive line.

He’s also a multi-sport phenom as  he was the Louisiana class 3A shot-put champion (53-1) as a sophomore and discus champion (151-6) as a junior.

With Brown’s commitment, LSU now has 16 commitments for the class of 2026.

Brown is the highest rated defensive lineman to commit to LSU since Marcus Spears in 2001.  Spears and Brown are almost identical in measurables at the same age.
