LSU adds Charlotte RB Rod Gainey Jr.

Lane Kiffin and the LSU football program have added their second running back from the transfer portal.

Rod Gainey Jr. of Charlotte has announced he’s committed to sign with LSU.  He just completed his redshirt freshman season.

This past season the 6-foot, 185-pound Gainey rushed for 264 yards on 74 carries with one touchdown. He also added 16 catches for 44 yards receiving.

He has three years of eligibility remaining.

Gainey prepped at Tampa Bay Tech in Tampa, Florida.  He joins Utah running back Raycine Guillory in the Tigers current transfer portal haul.
