The LSU football coaching staff is not done with their class of 2026 high school recruiting haul.
On Sunday, safety Jackson Williams of Marrero (La.) Archbishop Shaw announced his commitment to LSU.
“Coach Kiffin is a great guy and I can feel his passion to continue on the legacy of LSU through the things they have in place for us to achieve our goals,” Jackson Williams told TigerBait. “Also, Coach Olsen and Coach Raymond both impacted my decision a-lot as they gave me insight on how they see me on the defensive side.
“Lastly, when I was there it was guys getting in some extra work on a Saturday morning which told me this is the place I need to be.”
The 6-foot-2, 175-pound safety chose LSU over offers from Tulane, Florida State, Washington State and others.
Williams received a scholarship offer from the LSU staff a week ago and made the decision during his visit this weekend.
He was previously committed to Tulane and signed with Washington State.
Williams is a consensus three-star prospect across all recruiting networks. He was a team captain for Shaw, named All-District first team and for his junior season he helped Shaw capture the Division II Select state football title.
