Kim Mulkey and LSU continue to build momentum with the addition of Iowa State transfer guard Jada Williams. The dynamic guard brings a skill set that could quickly reshape the Tigers’ backcourt heading into next season.
Williams, a 5-foot-7 guard, arrives in Baton Rouge after spending her junior season with the Cyclones. She signed with Arizona out of high school and was named to the Pac-12 All-Freshman team after a stellar freshman season.
“Jada is a veteran point guard who is more than ready to run the show here in Baton Rouge,” Mulkey said. “She has the ability to create opportunities for teammates but also score at all three levels. Jada plays with an infectious energy that Tiger fans will love.”
Williams was a five-star recruit and the number 21 recruit in the class of 2023. She starred at La Jolla (Calif.) Country Day School and was the first high school female athlete to sign an NIL deal in 2021.
This past season, Williams was named First team all Big -12 after averaging 15.3 points, 7.7 assists and 3.5 rebounds per game.
Williams visited LSU this weekend before making her decision. She chose LSU after visiting Baylor and North Carolina.
She has one year of eligibility remaining.
