BREAKING: LSU Lands Four-Star WR Cade Cooper in Major National Recruiting Win
Lane Kiffin and his LSU football coaching staff continued their recruiting momentum on Monday as four-star wide receiver Cade Cooper of Malvern Prep (Pa.) has announced his commitment to the Tigers.
Cooper announced his decision after visiting LSU officailly this past weekend.
The 6-foot-3, 192-pound Cooper gives LSU another highly regarded pass catcher in the 2027 recruiting class and marks a significant recruiting win for wide receivers coach George McDonald and the Tigers' staff.
Cooper arrived in Baton Rouge this past weekend as one of LSU's top offensive targets in the 2027 cycle. Following his visit, momentum quickly shifted toward the Tigers, and LSU ultimately secured his pledge over a host of national programs.
He chose LSU over Ole Miss, Notre Dame and many others.
In an interview with Irish Sports Daily, Cooper’s high school coach spoke glowingly of his star player.
“It’s a combination of things,” Malvern Prep head coach Dave Gueriera said. “He’s got the physical traits, size, athletic ability. He’s got big, strong hands. But then there’s that work ethic piece that not a lot of kids have. He’s always focused on his craft, always looking for pointers to get better, doing film work.
“Physically, of course, it’s there, but it’s everything off the field. It’s everything he does in preparation. That’s what I think makes him special.”
He enters his senior season coming off a productive junior campaign at Malvern Prep in which he recorded 44 receptions for 644 yards and 10 touchdowns.
LSU now has eight commitments for their class of 2027 with Cooper’s pledge.
