LSU shortstop Steven "Monster" Milam will return to Baton Rouge for the 2027 season rather than begin his professional baseball career.

Milam's mother confirmed the decision to WAFB-TV, giving the Tigers back one of their most experienced and productive players for another year. A key contributor to LSU's 2025 national championship team, Milam has been a fixture in the Tigers' lineup over the past three seasons.

The veteran infielder hit .296 this past season with 11 home runs and 49 RBIs while continuing to provide steady defense and leadership up the middle. His return gives LSU another proven cornerstone as Jay Johnson and the Tigers look to make another run at Omaha in 2027.

Credit to WAFB-TV for first reporting confirmation from Milam's mother.
