LSU has landed a commitment from five-star edge rusher Chris Whitehead out of Chesterfield, Virginia.
White ranks as the 31st overall player in the class of 2027 according to the 247 Sports composite and as a high four-star in every major rating service.
This comes two months removed from his official visit to Baton Rouge in April.
Last season, he had 54 tackles, including 23 for a loss with 10.5 sacks, 3 forced fumbles and a fumble recovery in just 11 games for Lloyd C. Bird. He had equally impressive statistics in 2024 with 46 tackles, including 23 for a loss with 13 sacks, 3 fumble recoveries and two interceptions.
LSU beat out Ohio State, Virginia Tech, Georgia and South Carolina for his services.
He is scheduled to take his final official visit at Ohio State this weekend. There is no update on if that will still happen after his commitment to LSU.
He is the 13th commitment for LSU’s 2027 class and the ninth in the month of June. He is the third member of this class with a five-star rating in either the 247 Sports or 247 Sports composite rankings, joining Ahmad Hudson and KJ Green.
