BREAKING: Former Ole Miss All-SEC TE Dae’Quan Wright Joining LSU After Browns Release
Former Ole Miss tight end Dae’Quan Wright committed to LSU for the 2026 season following his release from the Cleveland Browns, according to reports.
ESPN’s Adam Schefter reported the Browns waived the undrafted rookie, who then reached an agreement to join the Tigers after clearing waivers.
The move was facilitated by a recent Louisiana court ruling. The decision, stemming from a lawsuit involving Wright and 15 other players, enjoined the NCAA’s restitution and "ghost transfer" rules, allowing players in NFL training camps to enter the transfer portal.
Wright, a second-team All-SEC selection last season, recorded 39 receptions for 635 yards and five touchdowns at Ole Miss. His four-year collegiate career includes 113 catches for 1,603 yards and nine touchdowns across tenures at Virginia Tech and Ole Miss.
Wright is the second player to join LSU under the new legal precedent, following former Notre Dame defensive end Junior Tuihalamaka’s commitment on Friday.'
