Mystery remains: Will Wade holds off on revealing full LSU basketball roster

The mystery surrounding Will Wade's first LSU basketball roster isn't over yet.

Wade met with reporters Wednesday as the Tigers begin preseason practice for the 2026-27 season, but those hoping to finally see LSU's complete roster will have to wait a little longer.

LSU's official roster continues to list only four players, and Wade said Wednesday he is not ready to publicly release the remainder of the roster.

Wade indicated there are various reasons for keeping the roster under wraps and said part of the decision is intended to protect the players involved.

That leaves plenty of intrigue surrounding exactly what Wade's first team back in Baton Rouge will look like as preseason preparations get underway.

The roster has been one of the biggest storylines surrounding LSU basketball throughout the offseason, with Wade and his staff assembling a collection of newcomers while eligibility questions have surrounded several potential members of the team.

While Wade did not provide the roster reveal many were anticipating Wednesday, he discussed the beginning of preseason practice, his team and the outlook for the upcoming season.

Wade is entering his second tenure as LSU's head coach after returning to Baton Rouge during the offseason.
