Here's an eye opening article that spells out the level of incompetence and chaos that's gripping our southern neighbor. It appears the cartels have defeated in open battle a Mexican military force and subsequently occupied the capital city of a Mexican state. If so, this marks a major setback for the central government. If they can't get a hand on this and other problems, the stability of Mexico proper will be in jeopardy. This will undoubtedly spill over to our side of the border and lead to more people fleeing the chaos. Surely, our leaders are watching these developments closely. Time will tell.
