Javonte Smart is returning to LSU

LSU guard Javonte Smart has announced that he will be returning to LSU for his sophomore season.

Smart finished his freshman season averaging 11.4 points, 3.3 rebounds and 2.4 assists a game.

He’s the first of six LSU players who declared for the NBA draft to say he’s opting to return to LSU instead.  Others expected to return that declared are Skyler Mays, Emmitt Williams and Marlon Taylor. 

Naz Reid and Tremont Waters are not expected to return as they received invites to the NBA's draft combine in Chicago.
