LSU’s path for getting to Omaha was announced Monday morning. The Tigers were one of the eight national seeds, specifically No. 6. So, LSU will not need to leave the friendly confines of The Box for the first two weekends of the NCAA tournament.

Questions surround this Tigers team as it prepares for a NCAA regional appearance. LSU can be viewed as the glass being half-full or half-empty.

This tournament will be an excellent NCAA regional tune-up for the Tigers. Three wins in three days will get LSU a SEC tourney crown. One week later, three wins in three days would get the Tigers a NCAA regional championship.

LSU has a good team on the horizon for 2025-26. A highly-rated freshman class must provide depth. However, much development must be made if the Tigers are going to challenge for a spot in the Final Four.

Zac Cowan was unable to protect a two-run lead as South Carolina rallied in the last two innings for a 6-5 victory over LSU at Columbia on Thursday night.

LSU is going to need three solid starters to successfully make its way through a four-team regional tournament.

LSU has not produced the same caliber of defensive backs as was the case more than five years ago.
