Time to enjoy best team in BCS/CFP era

When the Bowl Championship Series started some 21 seasons ago, LSU was far away from being a national championship contender.

The Tigers had not won a Southeastern Conference title since 1988 – ten years before the BCS format began. But, LSU’s fortunes turned around at the outset of the 21st century.

Last Monday night, LSU won a third national championship of the century when it defeated Clemson 42-25 at the Mercedes-Benz Superdome in New Orleans.
