It was not expected that LSU would be 4-0 at the one-third mark of the 2018 regular season.

Upset victories against Miami in Arlington (Tex.) and at Auburn have catapulted LSU to the No. 5 ranking in the country. The Tigers are considered to be the Southeastern Conference’s third best team – behind Alabama and Georgia.

The defense has been solid although opposing offenses have scored three touchdowns in each of the last two games. LSU has come away with nine takeaways.
