LSU player development needed on offense in preseason

Preseason practice will no longer be about a quarterback competition. Instead, all eyes should be on the development of Johnson and Nussmeier. Without a doubt, Nussmeier must be ready to play at UCLA.

LSU will begin preseason football practice Friday afternoon.

The next three weeks were going to be dominated by the quarterback competition between Myles Brennan and Max Johnson. However, that quarterback duel ended before it started when Brennan suffered a broken left arm during a fishing trip last week.

Brennan underwent surgery earlier this week. LSU has not released any timeline as to Brennan’s recovery.
