Orgeron back to being an interim head coach

Orgeron is back in a situation in which he has enjoyed great success – as a temporary head coach. In his two previous head coaching stints, Orgeron posted an 11-4 record – 6-2 at Southern California in 2013 and the aforementioned 5-2 at LSU in 2016.

Ed Orgeron will complete his time at the top of the LSU football program in the same position in which it began – interim head coach.

Orgeron was named the Tigers’ interim head coach four games into the 2016 season after Les Miles was fired. On Sunday, seven games into the 2021 season, LSU announced that Orgeron will no longer be the school’s head football coach after this year.

In essence, Orgeron will be the Tigers’ interim head coach for the next five or six games.
