ANALYSIS: Just not enough up front for LSU

Yes, the Tigers were 5-0 and had defeated two ranked teams – Miami and Auburn. But, coach Dan Mullen’s initial Florida squad showed why LSU is not at the elite level – as it was back in 2011-12. It is well known that the Southeastern Conference is a line of scrimmage league. LSU was beaten on both.

For the second time this season, LSU was involved in a fourth-quarter Southeastern Conference game on the road.

Three weeks ago at Auburn, quarterback Joe Burrow made the necessary plays on a drive which resulted in a game-winning field goal by Cole Tracy.

On Saturday afternoon at The Swamp, Burrow was not able to duplicate that result against Florida. With the Tigers behind by one point in the final minutes, there would be no game-winning score this time.
