The media’s preseason evaluation of the LSU football team was a little discouraging.

The Tigers were picked to finish fifth in the Southeastern Conference’s Western Division – ahead of only Mississippi State and Auburn.

Of the 75-plus players singled out for preseason All-SEC honors, just four come from LSU – wide receiver Kayshon Boutte, defensive ends Ali Gaye and BJ Ojulari and defensive tackle Maason Smith.
